Each year, our education initiatives reach thousands of students of all ages.

Supporting Local Universities

Over the past five years, we've donated millions in contributions to local universities. 

Scholarships

Each year, we sponsor numerous scholarships for those enrolled in university and community colleges.

PALS (Partners Assisting Local Schools)

PALS (Partners Assisting Local Schools) is an internationally and nationally honoured anti-poverty initiative, founded by Mr. J.K. Irving in 2000. What began with one school and one business partner has grown to more than 30 schools and over 150 partners and continues to grow! Hundreds of PALS volunteers are now working with our students and our schools to make a positive impact in their lives. Many students are supported by employees of the founding partner, J. D. Irving, Limited who volunteer up to two hours a week during their work day helping the students with reading, math, work placements, sports, music and much more.  To date, over 65,000 hours of JDI employee volunteer time has been dedicated to PALS.

Eco-Education for the Future Stewards of the Environment

Every year, the Irving Nature Park in Saint John and the Irving Eco Centre - La Dune de Bouctouche offer the community and schools educational resources including hands-on lessons in our outdoor "classrooms" learning about local ecosystems and the environment, fully funded summer day camps and free eco-activities coordinated by the parks
