Two JDI Employees Compete in Canadian Masters Curling Championships

Adib Samaan and Danny MacDonald are the Director of Risk Management, and a Cost Accountant for J.D. Irving, Limited, respectively. They’re also Skip and Lead on the men’s Masters curling team for New Brunswick. Along with their teammates Peter Myers and Donnie Ritchie, Adib and Danny will be representing New Brunswick at the upcoming Canadian Masters Curling Championships. Hosted in Guelph, Ontario, fourteen teams from across Canada will compete between April 2 and 9, 2017.

“It’s a great honour, it’s very exciting,” said Adib at a practice in advance of the competition. Adib noted that he is looking forward to competing at a National level and he’s thankful for the JDI sponsorship of his team. “JDI is a great company. They do so much in the community and often they don’t take credit for it. I’m proud to be representing New Brunswick and to be sponsored by JDI for this national competition.”

During the event, team New Brunswick will participate in a minimum of nine games with additional playoff games as required. The final championship game will be televised on Rogers.

“We wish our colleagues Adib and Danny and their team the best of luck as they compete in the Canadian masters Curling Championships,” said Ross Langley, Executive Vice President, J.D. Irving, Limited. “We’ll be cheering you on from home.”
