Top Quartile Safety and Production Records at Irving Pulp & Paper Division

J. D. Irving Pulp & Paper Division has achieved top quartile safety performance in 2014 while surpassing its all-time production record (2013).  The Division includes the three Saint John facilities: Irving Pulp & Paper Mill, Irving Tissue, and Irving Paper as well as Lake Utopia Paper near St. George, New Brunswick which produces corrugated medium for packaging.

In 2014, the four mills together exceeded the previous year’s all-time total production record with an additional 10 tonne per day increase. Meanwhile, the overall safety performance for the Division reached the top quartile of North American industry standards at a recordable incident rate (RIR) of 1.68 per 200,000 hours worked, improving on its previous best year of a 1.71 RIR.

"Achieving top quartile safety results and a new production record is the best tribute to the teamwork at each of these mills to deliver world class results for their co-workers and customers,” said Mark Mosher, Vice President, Irving Pulp & Paper Division.

The Division includes the three Saint John facilities: Irving Pulp & Paper Mill, Irving Tissue, and Irving Paper as well as Lake Utopia Paper near St. George, New Brunswick.
