Pharmacy for Life hosts workplace vaccination clinics for J.D. Irving, Limited employees

Saint John, New Brunswick – J.D. Irving, Limited employees in New Brunswick have been invited to participate in COVID-19 vaccination clinics hosted by Hartland-based Pharmacy for Life, as part of the Government of New Brunswick’s plan to swiftly expand the distribution of vaccines across the province.

Teams of immunizers will administer the AstraZeneca vaccine at these clinics. The AstraZeneca vaccine does not require extreme cold refrigeration making it easier to transport and deploy in locations outside of pharmacies.

“We’re committed to doing all that we can to support our public health leaders, province and all New Brunswickers in the fight against COVID-19,” said Jim Ramsay, Vice President of Health & Safety, Continuous Improvement with J.D. Irving, Limited. “With this AstraZeneca allocation, the advice of the department of health and the work of the Pharmacy for Life immunization team, we anticipate we’ll be able to reach more than 700 employees over the next 4 days.”

Employees 55 years of age or older have been invited to attend Pharmacy for Life clinics at 5 workplace locations around the province beginning Thursday April 8.

J.D. Irving, Limited has more than 8,500 employees throughout New Brunswick.

“At JDI, we have worked hard through the pandemic to keep one another safe, buy local and position ourselves to contribute to the province’s economic recovery,” Ramsay said. “Thanks and appreciation are due to all team members across the family of companies for their hard work and dedication.”
