“We have 340 summer students at KENT this year. We wanted to reach out to talk to them about future grad opportunities and all of the different career entry points for students,” said Kristen Drapeau, Student Recruitment Manager, JDI.
Some of the entry points and available opportunities for students include summer internships, summer jobs, co-op opportunities, apprenticeships, new grad hires, and the JDI Career Track development program for new grads.
“Many students get introduced to JDI through Kent Building Supplies, learning about customer service, and our culture, and we just think it’d a great opportunity to communicate to these students about the career opportunities at JDI and to keep them here in Atlantic Canada,” said Chris Hatt, Human Resources Manager, KENT.
Summer student Megan Osinga works at the west Saint John Kent store. She is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree at UNB Saint John. “I love the Maritimes and I want to be able to stay here. It’s great to know that JDI has so many job opportunities in our region.”
JDI is looking to fill 7900 positions across all divisions in Canada and the US between 2015 and 2017.
