#JDIGenerations - Meet the Clark Sisters
“I think it is great that Julia decided to work at JDI for her first co-op term. I am looking forward to being able to watch her learn and grow and help her out along the way if needed,” says Morgan Clark, a CPA with J.D. Irving, Limited when asked what she thinks about her younger sister Julia Clark starting her first co-op work term with JDI this winter.
“I feel very fortunate to have started my career with JDI straight out of university. Staying in the Saint John area was important to me, so it was a perfect opportunity to work at JDI while being able to stay close to my family and friends,” adds Morgan.Morgan has been with our Finance group for almost 6 years, working in accounting with our Construction & Equipment, Corporate Services, and Transportation & Logistics groups. Immediately after graduation, Morgan joined the team and received her CPA designation in January 2020 after completing the JDI’s internal program to support candidates through the requirements.
As for her younger sister Julia, she is just starting her path to a career in finance. “I chose to come to JDI for my co-op term because I know this is a large company that is continuously growing, so there would be lots of opportunities to explore different areas throughout my term,” says Julia.
So far, Julia is really enjoying the people she works with, “Although I started my co-op term while working from home, they made my virtual on-boarding experience very smooth.”
When asked if she looked to her sister for inspiration when considering where to work and what to study, Julia credits Morgan with helping her see what was possible, “I knew I wanted to take business in university and Morgan enjoyed working at JDI in accounting, so seeing her success had definitely inspired me to follow in her footsteps.”
At JDI we are always looking for the next generation of leaders. Interested in a career in Finance? Check out our openings and apply at careers.jdirving.com!
