J. D. Irving, Limited (JDI) has been awarded the top co-op employer award in the legacy co-op employer category for 2018 from Dalhousie University (DAL). Since 2004, JDI has partnered with DAL in supporting 360 student work terms, which equates to more than 25 work terms annually, in addition to new grad hiring. With over 300 employed alumni across our businesses, we are a proud and continuous supporter of the cooperative program at Dalhousie.  JDI was nominated by the Management Career Services Office at Dalhousie for being a top co-op employer, for the valuable experiences provided to students and for the campus activities that were held in 2018.

The Supply Chain, Logistics, and Accounting departments are heavily involved in DAL case competitions each year which helps strengthen our partnership and provides employment opportunities for students. JDI Day, along with sponsored annual student engagement events such as the Rowe Networking Night and Co-op Summer Social, are just some of the events that have contributed to the top co-op employer award.

This is the second time that JDI has received a Dalhousie award.  In 2015 the company was recognized as the Atlantic Canada Employer of the Year.
