Caring for Communities
For the past few years, every autumn, Kent Homes hosts a Community Caring Week, where they give back to their local community groups with different events and activities happening every day (see the story on their first Community Caring Week here).
This year, restrictions and social distancing may have altered their plans, it did nothing to their limit their generosity. Knowing they wouldn't be able to bring everyone together to have a week full of events, they started hosting drives at their office in August. The last week of August a school supply drive was orchestrated for employees in the Bouctouche office. Three local schools in St. Marie, Saint Antoine and Bouctouche stopped by the plant to pick up the supplies. 275 items were donated and split among the schools
For the entire month of October they're hosting a coat drive for the Kent County chapter of the Multicultural Association of the Greater Moncton Area. And leading up to the holidays, the plant runs a food drive starting in November.
Although they've already got a couple months of community work under their belt, they still have quite a bit planned!
