Paul Baker: A Passion for Giving Back

Paul Baker, Director of Sales at J.D. Irving Limited’s Pulp & Paper Division, embodies the spirit of community involvement. For the past three years, he has dedicated his time and energy as a volunteer coach for the local CanSkate program in Rothesay, New Brunswick.

"Witnessing those first few steps on the ice, the excitement in their eyes – that's what makes it all worthwhile," shares Paul. "Seeing these young skaters gain confidence and develop their skills is incredibly rewarding." He emphasizes the importance of early involvement, "If you wait to volunteer, you might find yourself making excuses. The earlier you get involved, the more likely it is to become a lifelong commitment."

Paul's commitment to volunteering extends beyond the ice. He's a familiar face at the annual PALS Christmas party, where he joyfully embodies the spirit of the season as both the Grinch and Santa Claus.

Paul believes that giving back is not just about helping others; it's about enriching one's own life. "There's always a way to contribute," he says. "Finding ways to help others is incredibly fulfilling."

Paul Baker's dedication to his community serves as an inspiration to others, reminding us of the importance of giving back and making a positive impact on the lives of those around us.
