Kent Homes is helping address the affordable homes crunch in New Brunswick with plans to build more houses this year for families in need through a partnership with Habitat for Humanity.

This comes on the heels of the modular construction company’s delivery of two modular duplexes for Habitat for Humanity within the last two years.

The collaboration began with the construction of a modular duplex in Fredericton, NB in 2022, followed by the delivery of a second one to Miramichi, NB in December 2023.

Further modular home builds are planned for 2024, in a move that will see more families have access to safe and affordable housing options in their communities.

“We are thrilled to be working with Habitat for Humanity to help make homeownership attainable for families here in New Brunswick,” said Jeremy Maxwell, General Manager of Kent Homes. “By leveraging our expertise in modular construction, we’re able to provide high-quality homes on time that are built significantly faster than traditional methods.”

Partnering on affordable housing is not a new undertaking for Kent Homes. Since 2022, the company has collaborated with the Canadian Mental Health Association of Prince Edward Island to deliver two modular apartment complexes that provide safe and affordable homes to at-risk individuals in Charlottetown and Alberton.

The Modular Advantage

Kent Homes manufactures its units in an assembly line with the help of a team including skilled tradespeople, engineers, designers, sales and marketing staff, administrators, and more. Modules are constructed in an indoor, climate-controlled facility using environmentally friendly products and building practices that minimize waste. This allows Kent Homes to complete projects on time and within budget.
