Meet Jeff Mazerolle: New Brunswick's first Red Seal Tower Crane Operator

Jeff Mazerolle is making history as New Brunswick's first Red Seal Tower Crane Operator.

Since joining Irving Equipment in 2003, Jeff has built an impressive career operating everything from pickers and boom trucks to some of the largest cranes in our fleet. His experience spans rough terrain, crawler, truck-mounted and all-terrain cranes, including the 650-ton Liebherr LTM 1500-8.1. He has also continued to expand his expertise on specialized equipment such as Self-Propelled Modular Transporters (SPMTs), skidding systems, cantilevered lifting beams and now, tower cranes. 

"Becoming the first Red Seal Tower Crane Operator in New Brunswick is something I'm really proud of," says Jeff. "As a second-generation Irving Equipment Crane Operator, I've had the opportunity to follow in my father's footsteps and gain experience on a wide range of equipment, from mobile cranes and SPMTs to tower cranes. It's exciting to be part of the growth of tower crane work in our region and help advance the trade here in New Brunswick." 

To earn this designation, Jeff completed more than 3,600 hours of tower crane experience, trained at the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) Training Facility in Crosby, Texas, and successfully passed the interprovincial Red Seal examination. This designation represents the highest national standard of skill, knowledge, and professionalism in the trade. 

"It's pretty cool to see someone make history in their profession, and earning certificate number 001 here in New Brunswick makes this achievement even more memorable," says Todd Cusack, Regional Manager at Irving Equipment. "Jeff has set a high standard for the industry, and this is an accomplishment he should be very proud of."
