Irving Woodlands thanks tree planters for a record 34 million trees planted in 2026
Irving Woodlands marked a record-breaking season in 2026 with 34 million trees planted.
This was not only the highest annual total in the company's history, but five million more trees than in 2025, and it would not have been possible without the dedication of the entire Irving Woodlands tree planting team.
"This remarkable achievement reflects the commitment, teamwork and professionalism demonstrated across our operations every day," said Ben Lane, Tree Planting Operations Manager. “I want to sincerely thank each member of the team for your tremendous contribution to our forests, our communities and our future.”
The milestone was also supported by the success of the team at Juniper Tree Nursery, who set a record-breaking season of their own by delivering 26 million seedlings for planting, the most ever for the organization.
The records of 2026 are important steps forward in the company's long-standing leadership in reforestation and sustainable forest management. Since 1957, Irving Woodlands has planted over 1.1 billion trees, a national record for a private company in Canada, and in July, tree planters in Maine planted the 100 millionth seedling in the state, marking another significant milestone.
From seed collection to nursery production and tree planting, these milestones highlight the scale of Irving Woodlands' reforestation program and the teamwork driving it.
The trees planted this season will help shape the forests of tomorrow, providing sustainable forest products and habitat for wildlife while acting as a natural air purifier, removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.
