Irving Pulp & Paper student competes in Canadian Engineering Competition
Cameron Archibald, an Electrical Engineering student at Irving Pulp & Paper, competed at the Canadian Engineering Competition in Calgary, Alberta this past weekend.
In January, Cameron and his team competed in the Atlantic Engineering Competition where they placed first in the consulting category. The consulting category involves designing a detailed solution to a large-scale engineering problem within eight hours.
“From working on interdisciplinary teams to time management, case competitions are helping me grow my skills for success later in my career,” says Cameron.
At nationals, Cameron’s team was tasked with creating a proposal to mitigate drought in Calgary.
The Dalhousie team included four engineering students: two electrical, one environmental and one civil.
Cameron looks forward to applying his new skills and knowledge to his ongoing projects at Irving Pulp & Paper.
