Employing over 130 engineers, the company is committed to growing and developing the next generation of talent here at home.

Key year-round activities include:
- Student work terms and co-op programs: Every year, Irving Pulp & Paper hires over 50 engineering students, providing hands-on experience and allowing them to apply their knowledge in real-world industrial settings.
- Ongoing collaborative research with universities: Partnering with local academic institutions, Irving Pulp & Paper provides presentations and tours of the mill. As well, the company sponsors engineering design courses that give students the opportunity to complete advanced research in areas such as process optimization and environmental sustainability, ensuring a constant flow of innovation.
- Full-time new graduate opportunities: In 2024, Irving Pulp & Paper hired seven new graduates straight from university to their operations from a variety of disciplines.
