Irving Equipment celebrates newly certified Red Seal Crane Operators
Irving Equipment is recognizing seven employees who have achieved their Red Seal Crane Operator Certification.
This certification is a significant milestone that demonstrates strong safety awareness, advanced technical knowledge and industry‑recognized competency to a national standard. This achievement reflects both the employees’ commitment to professional excellence and Irving Equipment’s continued investment in building a highly skilled, certified workforce.
In 2023, Irving Equipment identified the need to grow its Crane Operator workforce and partnered with International Union of Operating Engineers Local 946 to launch an integrated development program. The seven recent graduates began their journey in June 2023 and have since completed 5,400 hours of intensive training, on-the-job experience and competency development.
The Apprenticeship Program’s success is driven by Irving Equipment’s Apprentice Committee, a cross functional group that meets monthly to guide each apprentice’s development.
The committee builds training plans based on individual progress, ensuring apprentices gain diverse experience and grow into well-rounded employees. Apprentices are supported by instructors Jeremy Collins and Jimmy Keating along with dedicated mentors throughout the program.
“This work is building our talent pipeline and shaping the future of Irving Equipment,” says Ashley Miller, HR Manager for Irving Equipment. “To witness the apprentices progress through their block training and now achieve the ultimate goal of earning their Red Seal is truly rewarding. We couldn’t be prouder.”
