Employees participate in Coldest Night of the Year

J.D. Irving, Limited employees from Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, Ontario and Alberta participated in Coldest Night of the Year. The national walk raises money for charities serving those most in need in the community. This walk, during a cold winter’s night, demonstrates some of the challenges faced by those experiencing homelessness, hurt and hunger.

Prince Edward Island had two teams from Cavendish Farms. Employees walked for Harvest House PEI. in Charlottetown and LifeHouse Emergency Shelter in Summerside. Harvest House PEI helps struggling Islanders transition to a healthier life while LifeHouse Emergency Shelter supports individuals who find themselves temporarily homeless and are in a time of transition in their lives.

Employees from J.D. Irving, Limited's and Cavendish Farms’ Head Office in Dieppe, N.B. walked for Youth Impact Jeunesse. The charity offers residential and community outreach services for homeless and at-risk youth across New Brunswick.

Employees working for Irving Wallboard walked in Saint John, N.B. to raise money for Outflow Saint John. The charity addresses unemployment, hunger, homelessness and medical costs for those living in poverty.

Employees from Cavendish Farms in Wheatley, Ont. walked for Downtown Mission of Windsor. The charity offers food and shelter to those seeking care and support.

Cavendish Farms Lethbridge, Alta. employees supported Streets Alive Mission. They help those struggling with poverty through programs that lift people out of homelessness and bring hope.

Employees in the six locations raised $18,495 for their respective organizations. Thank you!
