New LNG Tugs Arrive for Atlantic Towing's Joint Venture in Trinidad and Tobago

ARC Towage, Atlantic Towing's joint venture, signed contracts with Netherlands shipbuilder Damen Shipyards Group in July 2013 to build four tugboats.  The new building contracts are the result of a special joint venture established to provide gas terminal berthing services for a significant energy industry player in Trinidad and Tobago.  The first Tug, an ASD (Azimuth Stern Drive) 2810, arrived in Trinidad earlier this month, while the second vessel is expected to arrive the first week of November.

NEW ANNAN, PEI – Cavendish Farms is cooperating fully with the RCMP investigation regarding foreign metal material found in recently harvested (2014) potatoes from a local Island farm.  On Thursday, October 2, 2014 foreign metal material was detected during the course of a normal production run of French fries at our New Annan Plant #2 on Prince Edward Island.

 

Environmental Protection Agency Honours Sunbury with Smartway Excellence Award

Sunbury Transport is proud to be recognized as a leader in environmental performance.  The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has awarded the company with the SmartWay Excellence Award, which recognizes organizations that advance technology and operations while reducing freight emissions. Only 11 of Smartway’s 3000 partners received this award, making Sunbury rank in the top one percent for superior environmental focus.

 

Ashland Sawmill Officially Opens in Nashville Plantation – 60 New Jobs

Today Irving Forest Products marked the official opening of the new state-of-the-art Ashland Sawmill in Nashville Plantation, Maine. During the construction phase, over 84 Maine businesses provided in excess of $17 million in goods and services to the project, employing over 50 people on site during peak construction.
