“Our investment in communities goes beyond our dedication to our employees and the bricks and mortar of our facilities,” said Robert Irving, company Co-Chief Executive Officer. “We are committed to keeping healthcare accessible for this region and feel strongly about supporting the high-quality care available at Glens Falls Hospital.”
“The theme of our 2013 Annual Fund is Making Healthy Commitments, and Irving Tissue is certainly making its own special commitment to the health of our region with this very generous gift,” said Dianne Shugrue, President and CEO of the Glens Falls Hospital Foundation. Irving Tissue is currently collaborating with the Foundation by having a full-time, hospital-employed occupational therapist on staff at the company’s Fort Edward facility.
Dr. Eric Pillemer, Medical Director at the Cancer Center, is extremely grateful for the company’s generosity. “Community support is an integral part of the care we provide,” Pillemer explains. “Donations from last year’s annual fund helped us purchase a new linear accelerator, which will arrive this fall. This new technology will allow us to provide our patients with care that is unrivalled in our region. Investments like this would not be possible without the philanthropic support of community donors such as Irving Tissue.”
