December 21, 2016:
This holiday season, we want to celebrate the spirit of giving as our business divisions and employees lead initiatives to give back to the communities where we are proud to live and work.
Romero House Turkey Donations and Food Deliveries
Romero House in Saint John is a special annual stop during the holiday season. J.D. Irving, Limited (JDI) donates roasts of beef, ham, and 100 turkeys in addition to ice cream for the kids and 200 pounds of vegetables. The Halifax Shipyard also donated 100 turkeys to Feed Nova Scotia.
As part of the PALS (Partners Assisting Local Schools) Holiday Hamper program, JDI employees provided almost 100 Christmas hampers to local families. Delivered the week of December 19, the baskets were filled with necessities including groceries, vegetables, and turkeys as well as small gifts and games.
