As Atlantic Towing, Limited (ATL) continues to grow its fleet, the recruitment team has been busy building its future workforce. Earlier this month, ATL participated in the annual Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN) Marine Institute Career Fair. ATL presented early job offers to nine students: four students from the nautical science program and five marine engineers.

Irving Pulp & Paper will invest $450 million in a two-phased modernization program of the west side pulp mill. It is the largest investment in a pulp mill in Canada since 1993. The project will generate 1.2 million in person hours of construction work over two phases – equivalent to a total of 600 full-time equivalent (FTE) jobs. The pulp mill investment involves no provincial or federal government funding.
The 22nd Can-Am Crown International Sled Dog Races took place this past weekend in Fort Kent, Maine. Mushers from throughout North America and around the world competed March 1 to March 4 in three races: the 30-mile, the 60-mile, and the 250-mile.
