Irving Eco-Centre: An eco-world of fun

Learn about the great sand dune, local ecosystems and habitat through Irving Eco-Centre's fun, interactive activities and events.  Admission to all programs and parks is free.

Meeting Places for all interpretive events will be on the boardwalk near the Information Centre.  General public tours are offered in English and French.

Dogs are not permitted on the dune or boardwalk; however, we are pleased to offer a free kennel service to visitors who are travelling with their pets.

Schedule of activities for the public for May 22nd to June 22nd

From May 20th  to June 23rd , the Information and Interpretation Centres will open daily  from 10am to 5:00pm

From June 24th to September 2nd , the Information Centre  and the Interpretation Centre will open  daily from 10a.m. to 6p.m.

From September 3rd   to October 6th  , the Information and Interpretation Centres will open daily  from 10am to 5:00pm

Educational guided tours to school groups and special groups (b)

Electric vehicle tour on the boardwalk” (for the physically challenged): Enjoy a leisurely ride on our electric vehicle while learning about the dune’s ecology, and migratory endangered birds….when available (b)

Saturdays

1:30 PM to 3:00 PM - “Roving Interpreter” An interpreter will be roving all over the site answer your questions and to point out interesting facts about the Dune ecosystem   (b)

Sundays

1:30 PM to 3:00 PM - “Nature Exhibit Program” outside near the Information Centre (different theme every day)  (b)

3:00pm   Come celebrate the arrival of summer with the family on the beach. The treasure hunt at the Irving Eco-Center will make you move and think, while immersing yourself in the splendor of our beautiful nature ... word games, observation, charades and lots of information!

« Shell-fishing is Fun » (b)

This family activity will help young and old discover how people in the Bouctouche area fish for bar clams, soft shell clams and razor clams. How they are harvested, cooked and preserved by locals including ways to served them. 

Sunday, September 16th  

 

 “Walk the Full Dune” The Full Dune Walk is a community outdoor challenge that consists of hiking the full 12km length of the Bouctouche sand spit. Boat pick-up from tip of the dune is provided. Pre-registration is required as of September 1st.

Every Wednesday Morning in July and August

8:30am to 9:30am   “Yoga at the Beach" What a better way to start your day by doing an hour of yoga on the beach…..bring a mat or a towel and join Brigitte, a local Yoga instructor every Wednesdays of July and August.
